Tierrasanta is a neighborhood in San Diego, California. The name Tierrasanta means "holy land" in Spanish. The area was originally part of the Mission San Diego de Alcalá, and later part of a Mexican land grant called Rancho Sante Fe. In the early 20th century, the area was developed into a dairy farm. In the 1960s, the dairy farm was sold and the land was converted into a residential community.
Today, Tierrasanta is home to about 28,000 residents. The community is known for its quiet neighborhoods and scenic views. There are several parks and recreation areas in the community, including Mission Trails Regional Park. Tierrasanta is also home to several schools and businesses.
